Running the Queue

Everything you need to run open play from the tablet.

Get the wall onto a TV

Typing the long TV link on a smart-TV remote is painful — so every session has a short TV code instead. No 36-character link to peck out.

1

On the console, open ⋯ → Device links. Under TV wall you'll see a 6-character code (e.g. 255636).

2

On the TV's own browser, go to q.managesports.app/tv.

3

Type the code and press Watch — the wall opens. Fullscreen it and you're set.

Got a phone handy? You can still scan the QR in Device links to watch on the phone — but the code is the easy way onto the actual TV. It uses only clear characters (no O/0 or I/1), and it keeps working the whole session.

Set up the kiosk

  1. Open the console link on the tablet and put it in Fullscreen (the button).
  2. For the court screen, open ⋯ → Device links. On the TV's browser go to q.managesports.app/tv and enter the short TV code shown there (see Get it on a TV). Fullscreen it too.
  3. Point players at the Player view QR from the same menu so they can follow along on their phones.
  4. Turn on Auto-rotate so the next game starts automatically when a court frees up.
  5. Tap Lock so players can't change settings — they can still check in and tap winners.

Check players in

Only checked-in players are put into games. Two ways:

  • Tap-to-arrive. As people show up, they tap their name in the Check-in panel at the top. Tap again to undo a mistake.
  • Add players. Tap Add to type names — one per line, or paste a whole list (numbered lists like "1. Ana" work too). Duplicate names are skipped.

Run games

  • With Auto-rotate ON, games start on their own whenever a court is open and enough players are waiting. You mostly just tap winners.
  • When a game finishes, tap the winning team'sWon button on that court. The next game starts automatically.
  • Players can also report their own result from their phone (on the Player view) — it shows up here for you.
  • In Paddle stack mode, Record the winner is on by default, so you still tap the winning side's Won button (wins are logged, but it doesn't change the queue order). Turn that setting off and you'll get a plain End game button instead.

Buttons explained

Add

Type or paste player names to drop them into the queue.

Fullscreen

Fill the whole screen — hides the browser bars on the tablet.

Lock

Kiosk lock. Tap to lock away the management controls; press and hold to unlock. Check-in and winner taps still work.

Reset

Wipe all games, scores and the order and start fresh — checked-in players stay.

End session

Stop play: running games are stopped and auto-rotate turns off. The console and the TV both flip to the final leaderboard; tap Resume to drop back into the live queue. On a tablet it sits next to Device links; on a phone it's in the ⋯ menu.

Auto-rotate

When ON, ending a game immediately starts the next one on that court.

Settings

Game size, match type, play-time fairness, new-player placement, courts, and the confirm-winner toggle.

Queue / Wall

Switch between the operating view (Queue) and a preview of the TV wall (Wall).

Device links

The scannable Console, TV, and Player-view QR codes — plus the short TV code for opening the wall on a TV without a link.

Players

Manage everyone on the roster — rename, remove, set a time limit, or lock two players as partners.

Activity log

In the ⋯ menu. Everything that happened this session, newest first — useful for checking a result you think went in wrong.

Session report

In the ⋯ menu. Who was here, their check-in and end times, and every time limit that was changed. Downloads as a spreadsheet. See “Session report” below.

Share your feedback

Opens a quick survey so you can tell us how the queue is working and what to improve.

Court controls

On each live court card:

Won

Mark the winning team — records the result and rotates the queue.

Switch partners

Re-pair the four players already on court — nobody leaves. Tap again to cycle through the pairings.

Swap a player

Replace someone on court with a waiting player, or trade with a player on another court.

Move game

Move the whole game to another court (or swap two courts’ games).

Cancel

End the game without recording it — the players go back to the queue.

Pause court

Take a court out of rotation — for a lesson, a wet floor, or when you have more courts than staff. It stops being offered games and shows as Paused on the wall and players’ phones. A game already in play finishes first. Tap ▶ to put it back. Turn this on in Settings → Courts.

Rename court

Tap the court’s name to relabel it (“Center Court”, “Court A”). The new name shows on the TV wall and the players’ phones too.

In the waiting list, use the arrows to reorder someone, or the ⋮ menu to sit a player out or remove them.

Locked partners

Some people always want to play together — a couple, a fixed doubles pair. Tap 🔗 Partners in the top bar to lock two players together.

  • A locked pair always plays on the same team — the rotation never splits them.
  • They move through the queue as one, and their game only starts once both are free. If one is still on court (or hasn't checked in), the other waits for them.
  • Linked players show a small 🔗 partner chip in the queue so you can see the pairing at a glance.
  • To undo, open Partners again and tap Unlink. Removing a player also clears their link automatically.

Best for doubles. It's an organiser tool, so it's hidden while the kiosk is locked.

Settings

Game size

How many players per game — usually 4 (doubles) or 2 (singles).

Match type

Two ways to decide who plays next:

  • Paddle stack (first-in-first-out) — a simple queue. Everyone rotates evenly; the next players off the top play next. Fairest for casual play.
  • Winners & Losers — winners play winners, losers play losers. Competitive "king of the court". You tap the winning team after each game.

Record the winner (Paddle stack only)

On by default. You still tap the winning side's Won button so wins are logged and show on the final leaderboard — it just doesn't change the fair rotation. Turn it off for a plain End game button with no winner.

Play time (Winners & Losers only)

How the winners and losers lines share court time:

  • Balanced (default) — whichever line is longer is served more often, so everyone plays about as often. Games are still skill-matched; nobody's stuck watching.
  • Reward ladder — winners keep their fast line and play more, as a reward. The losers line waits longer between games.

New players

  • Join the back — new arrivals wait behind everyone (default).
  • Jump the queue — new arrivals go to the front and play next.

Up next display

How the next group to play is drawn, on this board and on the TV wall:

  • Court (default) — laid out like a live game, with the two teams either side of the net, so the next match reads the same way as the ones already on court.
  • List — the plain waiting-line look: just the names in order.

Court cards

How each court is drawn on the board:

  • Matchup (default) — the two teams' names either side of a vs line.
  • Court — the players drawn standing in their halves on a marked court, with the kitchen and net. Pick a surface colour beside it: blue, green, clay or purple.

Allow pausing a court

Off by default. Turn it on to add a pause button to every court, so you can take one out of rotation without deleting it — it keeps its name and place. Turning the setting back off puts every paused court straight back into rotation.

Ask to confirm (recording a winner)

Turn on to get a confirmation before a "Won" tap counts — handy on a shared kiosk to avoid accidental taps.

Session report

Open the ⋯ menu in the top bar and tap Session report for a record of the session — on screen, and as a spreadsheet you can keep.

  • Who was here — everyone on the roster, how many checked in, and who never turned up.
  • Times — when each player checked in, their time limit, and when their time is up. Players running on the session default are marked (default).
  • Time limit changes — every extension made during the session: who got extra time, from what to what, and when. This is the part that answers "was that extra court time actually paid for?" — without it, a player who was extended looks exactly like one who booked the longer slot to begin with.
  • Download Excel — the same report as a spreadsheet, with a Summary, Players and Extensions sheet. Opens in Excel or Google Sheets.

Worth knowing: the report records what changed and when, not who changed it — the kiosk is shared, with no per-staff sign-in. It will show you an extension happened; matching it to a person is still your call.

Times are shown in your own timezone. You can open the report at any point — it doesn't have to be the end of the night.

Free vs Pro

A free queue runs a full session — it's just capped in size. Pro lifts the caps.

Free

  • Up to 4 courts
  • Up to 50 players
  • Everything else — TV wall, player view, reports, all of it

Pro · ₱499 for 30 days

  • Up to 20 courts
  • Up to 200 players
  • A PRO badge in the top bar, so you can see at a glance which plan the session is on

You can upgrade mid-session — the caps lift on the running queue without restarting it or losing any games. Your code is remembered, so the next session starts on Pro automatically.

Hit the cap while adding courts and the console offers the upgrade there and then. Nothing is taken away when a pass expires; you just can't go past the free caps again.

How the "paddle stack" works

Think of the waiting list like a stack of paddles at the desk. When your game ends, your paddle goes to the back, and the next paddles up play. That's the whole idea — it just keeps everyone rotating fairly.

In Winners & Losers mode

  • Winners join the Winners line, losers join the Losers line — so you play people at your level.
  • The two lines take turns — how often each is served depends on the Play time setting (Balanced or Reward ladder).
  • A line only plays when it has enough players for a full game. If not, the lines combine so a court is never left empty.
  • New players get a first game before the winners bracket really gets going.
  • After a game, everyone goes to the back of their line and re-queues fairly — there's no forced sit-out.

"Up next" only appears once it's certain. While a game is still on and its result could change who plays next, the wall shows nothing rather than guessing wrong.

Kiosk lock

When players will handle the tablet themselves, tap Lock.

  • Still works while locked: checking in, tapping winners, adding players.
  • Hidden while locked: End Session, Reset, Settings, reordering, swaps, cancel.
  • To unlock: press and hold the lock.

Common questions

I tapped the wrong winner.

Open the activity log and use "correct winner" on that game, or just turn on Ask to confirm in Settings to prevent it next time.

A game won't start.

You need at least 2 checked-in players free, and an open court. Check Auto-rotate is ON, or use "Fill" on an open court.

Someone left.

Un-check them from the Check-in panel (tap their green chip), or use the ⋮ menu → Remove in the waiting list.

I spelled a name wrong.

Tap Players in the top bar to open the player list — hit the pencil to rename anyone, on court or waiting. (You can also use the ⋮ menu → Rename on a waiting player.) Changes show everywhere — queue, court, and the TV.

I want to start the night over.

Use Reset — it clears games and scores but keeps everyone checked in.

The tablet went to sleep / reloaded.

Just reopen the console link — the session picks up exactly where it left off.

The same players keep getting matched together.

This can happen when the number checked in is exactly your courts × 4 and you're running more than one court (e.g. exactly 8 players on 2 courts, or 12 on 3) — everyone's on a court at once, so when one frees only those same four are free to go back on. It sorts itself out as soon as a few more players check in (the pool needs some spare). If you're stuck at an exact full house, run one fewer court for a bit, or add a couple of walk-ins. On a single court it mixes everyone automatically.

Close this tab to get back to your queue.
